Everyone knows about the health benefits of lemon water, but did you know that by adding turmeric to it you will create an even more powerful beverage? This amazing drink will provide you with enough energy for the day and has numerous health benefits which will improve your overall health.

Turmeric is a spice which has also been used due to its amazing health benefits. It can treat over 160 conditions and diseases and has no adverse side-effects as other drugs have. Turmeric is an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent which can fight free radicals and prevent damage to the body. Besides adding the wonderful spice to your meals, you can also add it to lemon water and create a powerful beverage that will improve your health.

Warm lemon water with turmeric

The warm lemon water improves digestion and cleans the liver while the pinch of turmeric amplifies the effects of lemon water and makes the beverage even healthier. Here are the benefits of drinking warm lemon water and turmeric:

  • Turmeric prevents blood sugar spikes after meals and helps the body process sugar better;
  • It also helps your system breakdown fat more efficiently as it increases the bile flow;
  • Turmeric protects the brain from degenerative age-related disorders such as Alzheimer’s;
  • It cleans the body of toxins and improves liver function;
  • Turmeric stimulates bile production and helps the body properly digest food.

Besides these healthy benefits, adding a pinch of turmeric in lemon water will help you lose fat faster and detoxify your organs. The drink has antimicrobial properties that can strengthen your immune system, prevent colds and the flu, boost your energy levels, treat constipation, etc.

Here’s what you need to prepare the drink:

Ingredients

¼ of a teaspoon of turmeric

A cup of warm water

Lemon juice (from half a lemon)

A pinch of cinnamon

1/8 of a teaspoon of honey

Preparation

Warm up the water first, then add the lemon juice, turmeric and honey. Stir the mixture well so the turmeric doesn’t fall to the bottom, and drink the mixture while it’s still warm.
