Welcome to my Blog!
My name is Gudrun Howell and my story is very simple. I was a sickly child and as I was growing up I remember my Swedish grandmother always preparing tea and adding ‘special’ herbs in my meals to aid my recovery. She was always by my side, telling me stories, teaching me about life in general and how different the world was (or how same) when she was growing up. We had a special relationship and she is my inspiration for this blog.
My name in Old Norse means “god’s secret lore” and it fits I guess, as my aim is to make this blog a positive place of ‘lore’ where one can find the info and the incentive to lead a healthier life. I was raised to think about what I eat and consider food nature’s medicine. I still consider healthy eating habits and physical activity as the basis of a healthy life. Whatever your background or profession, a little awareness and small change in your daily habits can go a long way in providing you a healthy platform to pursue your life’s goals.
While alternative and traditional medicine can improve your life, conventional medicine can SAVE IT. One does not exclude the other – there is place for both. I am especially happy when I read a research or a study that confirms some remedy or practice hundreds of years old. The meeting point of the scientific method and old almost-forgotten knowledge.
Stay with us as we explore solutions of modern medicine and traditional practices from various cultures around the world and offer a vision of a healthy life.
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a medical professional and do not offer medical advice. All the info on my blog is for informational purposes only. Your doctor or care provider is the only one you should take medical advice from, not random Internet articles, especially if you have a condition. Always check for sources and references. Use common sense and consult your doctor before starting a diet, exercise or a remedy we explore in our articles, doubly so if you have a condition. If a solution works for someone else, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you.
