Leg Pain Can Be a Warning of a Serious Problem! Do Not Ignore the Pain, Even If it's not Strong Enough! | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · February 20, 2018 ·

Many people believe that chest pain is the only pain that is dangerous for their life. But they don’t know that even the leg pain can cause many problems.

Are your arteries or veins a ticking time bomb in your organism?

Do you experience unexplained cramp gripping on your calf muscle while walking and gets worse if you run?

The pain doesn’t go away until you sit down and never appears while resting?

Don’t take the pain for granted, even if it is not that painful and it is more of a needles-type numbness.

Blocked Blood Vessels

Leg pain and discomfort in the legs are the most common symptoms of vascular ailment, inflammation and weakness of the veins and arteries caused by deposits of fatty accumulations in the blood vessels.

This leg ache may be a symptom of obstructed and weakened blood vessels. If you don’t treat it, it may result with heart attack or stroke and aneurysm (the artery becomes weak and swollen and may fracture). There are cases when peripheral artery ailment resulted with gangrene and amputation.

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) impacts 9% of the population, while only a quarter of the affected people will experience any symptoms. Experts warn that one out of five will be killed of a heart attack and stroke.

The first symptom is the pain while walking, or painful muscle spasms in the calves, thighs or buttocks. The condition can be even worse while walking uphill or carrying heavy load. You can make the pain to go away for several minutes if you rest. But when you get up on your feet and start walking, the pain will be back, which will lead to bigger blood vessels and weakness in the legs. The pain appears because the leg muscles are lacking of blood.

You can reduce the damage if you visit your doctor as soon as possible and check your pulse and pressure in arms and legs. It can really be a lifesaving. Physical activities alleviate simple issues and improves the circulations for most of the patients, particularly in those with extra weight.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm

Abdominal aortic aneurysm or also known as abnormal swelling of the main artery in the organism is another potential issue. 10% of the people who suffer from peripheral arterial ailment experience abdominal aortic aneurysm.

This ailment normally expands slowly without any symptoms. There aneurysms that never rupture, and many of them stay small although it may expand in time. But, there are some that expand quicker, which can result with increased possibility of rupture.

This disease is very hard to be predicted. Yet it may be noticed by a pulsating feeling around the navel, delicacy or pain in the abdomen, chest or back. If the aorta ruptures there is only 20% chance of surviving. Prevention is the best defence. The patient who decided to have a surgery for repairing their aneurism before it ruptures will have 97% chances of survival.

Prevention- Small Changes Make All the Difference

At the beginning you should make small changes in your life, like having more physical activity, avoiding red meat and quit smoking. If you discover your peripheral artery ailment early, you can deal with it if you make some changes in your life.

It is highly advisable that people with bigger issues take cholesterol drugs or have small surgery. Take care of your legs before the symptoms occur, and you can achieve that if you exercise regularly. It will lower the chances of gaining this disease and improve your overall health.
