Benefits Of Pilates For Healthy Hair Growth

Gudrun Howell · July 19, 2019 ·

Pilates was originally developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. Joseph Pilates is a nurse and he worked with a lot of the injured soldiers before he came to the United States during World War I. When he is creating the Pilates method and teaching the method to his followers, he actually called it Contrologoly. He said, “Contrology (Pilates) begins with mind control over muscles.”

Pilates was a technique that was tailored to help the body gain strength and flexibility. It’s an interesting concept where the body is constantly put through exercises that provide strengthening and flexibility at the same time.

Hair loss affects hundreds of millions of people around the world. Some people experience thinning hair or hair loss which is related to genetics and your lifestyles such as stress, hormonal disorders, poor nutrition, medical treatments or the overuse of hair products.

Pilates is a beautiful form of exercise because it has the ability to stretch and strengthen the body at the same time. It is also considered as one of the effective ways to speed up hair growth. Let’s find out more about the amazing benefits of Pilates for healthy hair growth.

First of all, it is important to understand that hair need proper blood circulation to the scalp to grow fully. It is what drives all the nutrients such as protein, zinc, iron, biotin and omega-3 fatty acid to the hair follicle to promote optimal growth. Your hair needs all the essential vitamins especially vitamin C to help it grow and improve blood flow to the scalp circulation. Healthy blood circulation in the scalp brings oxygen to the hair, that many believe could help hair to grow faster.

Regular exercise improves blood circulation by keeping your heart pumping well and your circulatory system stronger. If you are doing all the right things such as scalp massages, eating healthy foods, using natural products and you don’t have any underlying medical conditions, but you are still losing hair, then perhaps the only thing you are not doing is exercise. Pilates is a well-known exercise program or aerobic exercise that aims to promote a strong hair growth cycle.

Another thing can trigger you to lose hair is stress. Not only stress can cause hair loss, but it is also linked to other hair conditions such as Telogen effluvium in which new hair strands are not produced, Trichotillomania, a psychological condition resulting in a person to pull out her hair when she is tense, and Alopecia areata, which causes hair to fall out. Pilates Exercises

If you’ve never done Pilates before, here’s a popular Pilate exercise beginner like you can try at home: The Neutral Spine Pilates Exercises. These exercises help to detox your body and help with hair growth. Here are the procedures;

Breathing

Lie on your back with your spine in a good position and your knees bent. Put your hands on your rims, take it in half and just take an inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Try not to let your chest and belly lift and try to expand your ribs side to side as you inhale. Then exhale and funnel your low abs down and try to get all the air out.

Table Top

Gently pull your belly button in your spine to ensure your spine is safe when you move. Next, lift your right leg up, hold it for a few seconds and bring it back down the ground then do the other leg. If you’re ready, go ahead and lift one leg and lift the other leg up to create a tabletop position.

Leg Circle

Go ahead and lower one leg and the other leg down to rest. Then, lift your right leg up again to come up to tabletop position and straighten it out and draw some small circles. Try not to let the left knee, spine, and hips move. Switch directions and when you feel you need to rest it, bring that foot down and do the other side.

Bridging

Arms down to your sides. Inhale and exhale, curl your tailbone and roll all the way up into a bridge. Try to keep your hips level You are going to come on to your shoulder blades. Make sure you are not on your neck. Inhale at the top and exhale, roll down slowly starting from the top to your tailbone.
