She Went To The Doctor With Stomach Pain, But When He Saw 12,000 Of These In Her He Screamed!!! | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · November 30, 2016 ·

Minati Mondal, a 48-year-old woman from India had suffered from acid reflux and stomach pain for about 45 days.

The scans she had done in the hospital showed that she had been suffering from hard deposits in the bladder, commonly known as gallstones. During the surgical intervention, the doctors were taken aback when they found about 11,950 stones in her body. Wow! This is probably the new world record and the samples could be kept in London.

This woman experienced intense stomach pain and suffered from acid reflux over the course of two months. As mentioned above, the tests and scans she done at the hospital had shown that she had been suffering from severe case of gallstones.

These gallstones are balls made of cholesterol and salts and as the name itself suggests, they are formed in the gallbladder, an organ located under the liver. Sometimes, although you have gallstones, you can lead a normal life without any symptoms. However, if these gallstones block the gallbladder, this blockage results in pain, nausea, and potentially deadly infection. Gallstones are common health issue and it is believed that a fatty diet can increase the risk of developing gallstones, particularly in women. Still, the exact reason remains unclear.

In this particular case, the doctors could expect anything but such a large number of gallstones. According to Dr. Makhan Lala Saha, the doctor who performed the surgery, “I was astonished to see the large number of stones that we extracted from the gall bladder of this patient. I had never thought a gall bladder could contain so many stones.”

Several assistants helped Dr. Saha count the tiny stones. The team of doctors put on double-layer rubber gloves and after four hours, it has been concluded that there were 12, 000 stones with size 25- mm.

Even though Dr.Makhan Lala Saha has done many surgeries during his career as gastrointestinal endo surgeon, he was shocked to find out that the number crossed 5,000 stones!

As explained by Dr. Saha, “Two months ago, I had operated on a girl who had 1,110 stones but despite the shocking number, I found that in 1983, doctors in Britain had removed 3,110 stones from a German patient’s gall bladder. But I feel this number can replace the past record since the current number is three times more than the record.”
