Why prioritize alternative medicine?

Gudrun Howell · August 27, 2023 ·

Natural techniques and methods

Alternative medicine is an approach to health and wellness that focuses on the use of natural, non-invasive methods and treatments. She aims to prevent and cure Diseases using techniques that respect the body’s natural mechanisms.

His holistic approach to health makes it possible to treat the patient in his entirety, taking into account the physical, emotional and mental aspects. The patient is therefore spared any stress, even that of the costs of treatment. Indeed, thanks to mutual alternative medicine, each person can afford adequate natural treatments for his health.

The methods used in alternative medicine encompass a wide range of practices. These include medicinal plants and body therapies.

Medicinal plants

Medicinal herbs are at the heart of natural medicine. Each plant has a unique chemical composition such as flavonoids, terpenes and alkaloids to promote healing.

These leaves or bark are used in different forms, especially infusions, tinctures, powders and extracts. They have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial and immune system strengthening properties.

For example, chamomile is renowned for its soothing components, making it a popular infusion for improving sleep and reducing anxiety. Ginseng, on the other hand, is used to increase energy and boost vitality. Echinacea is valued for its immune-boosting characteristics.

Body therapies

Body therapies are based on the belief that the body has innate healing abilities and that Physical balance influences overall health. Among the most common methods are acupuncture, naturopathy and osteopathy.

Acupuncture is a medicine that involves inserting needles into specific parts of the human body to promote the flow of energy and restore balance. It is often practiced to relieve pain, manage stress and facilitate healing.

Naturopathy uses approaches such as nutrition, herbs and supplements to support healing and promote health. Naturopaths work with patients to identify the underlying causes of health problems and develop personalized treatment plans.

Finally osteopathy focuses on gently manipulating the musculoskeletal system to improve mobility, blood circulation, and overall body function.

Reduction of side effects

Traditional pharmaceutical drugs are usually designed to target a medical condition. However, they can also affect other parts of the body, leading to potentially harmful side effects.

On the other hand, the natural ingredients used by alternative medicine are better tolerated and accepted by the body. They have a lower risk of adverse side effects. For example, the medicinal herbs and essential oils used positively influence health without any inconvenience.
