DOCTORS: STOP FEEDING YOUR KIDS HOT DOGS IMMEDIATELY | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · July 26, 2018 ·

You’ve probably had at least one hot dog in your life – the popular fast food is nearly unavoidable these days, with hot dog vendors lurking around every corner of the streets.

But, have you ever wondered if this popular type of fast food is healthy for you? Well, according to recent studies, hot dogs aren’t only unhealthy – they can cause numerous life-threatening ailments as well!

According to one study, kids who eat more than 12 hot dogs a month are 9 times more prone to leukemia than those who don’t eat them.

Even worse, pregnant women who eat hot dogs are more likely to give birth to a child that may develop brain tumor. This shows how dangerous hot dogs are!

What’s the problem?

According to experts, the main problemwith hot dogs is their high nitrite and nitrate content. These compounds are present in many types of processed foods such as bacon, salami, sausages and of course, hot dogs.

When exposed to high temperatures during production, nitrites react with amines, which forms nitrosamines, dangerous cancer-causing compounds that can have serious consequences on your health. These compounds can form in your digestive tract and may cause a lot of damage.

According to a recent study, nitrites have been linked to esophageal and different types of digestive cancers. There is also evidence that these compounds may be related to brain and thyroid cancer, although further research should be done on the matter.

Experts from the WHO (World Health Organization) have declared nitrites and nitrates as probable carcinogens, and the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard is currently considering listing nitrosamines as carcinogens. This is why hot dogs should stay out of your diet, and why you should focus on healthy food instead.
