This 11-Year-Old Entrepreneur Is Saving Bees With Her Lemonade Recipe | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · November 16, 2017 ·

There are hundreds of stories about compassion, dedication and industry, but there aren’t many more amazing than those including children and their ingenuity. This story is about the 11-year old girl named Mikaila, and this girl is on a very important mission. She is eager to save the bees, with a bottle of lemonade.

If you visit her website you will see that Mikaila’s journey started when she was 4 years old. Her family stood by her side and she started her mission using her grandmother’s flaxseed lemonade.

While preparing for the competition, Mikaila was stung by two bees, which was challenging experience that soon passed into a fascination with the beautiful insect. Mikaila did a little research and found out about the current plight of bees, and learned that these insects are very important for the whole ecosystem.

To assess these two worlds together, Mikaila combined her grandmother’s lemonade recipe with local organic honey and made a savoury drink which she named BeeSweet.

Since that moment, Mikaila inspires many people and she is selling her drink at every possible event she can attend to. She also donates a part of her profits to local and international organizations that try to preserve the bees.

Soon, Mikaila attracted the public attention and she came out on the TV series Shark Tank, where people are presenting their ideas hoping to receive financing. One of the companies decided to finance her and lend $60.000 in exchange for 25% of the company.

But if you think Mikaila is the only child in the world that is aware enough of the world problems, you are very wrong. Rachel Parent, Boyan Slat and Bindi Irwin are only 3 of the hundreds kids.

Knowing that kids today are losing their focus in the screens, it is great relief and refresh to find out about stories like this.
