Water retention symptoms

The problem is more common in women, usually a week before menstruation, due to hormonal changes, and as a result a bloating stomach is created, a feeling of heaviness in the legs and fatigue. Bloating of the stomach can cause poor blood circulation and lymph flow, malfunction of the heart, kidney, bladder and liver, hormonal changes, diabetes, and even food allergies and lack of important nutrients, especially certain vitamins and minerals. Water retention is promoted with the consumption of too much salt and too little fluid causing swelling of the stomach, and for the edema it is characteristic that when pressing on the surface of the skin an impression is left for a few moments. Edema can occur on any part of the body, and usually occurs on the lower legs, causing leg swelling, edema of the abdominal cavity, edema on the face, hands and fingers, sometimes in the lungs. Local swelling, for example joints and fingers, are usually temporary and are a consequence of long sitting or standing, as well as poor circulation due to ill body position, and generally disappear spontaneously without therapy.

This disorder is most often manifested on the feet and legs as well as swelling of the legs, but it can occur on the hands, arms, in the abdominal cavity and around the lungs (pulmonary edema).
