SPREADING SALT AROUND THE HOUSE. HERE'S WHY IT'S SO INCREDIBLE! | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · July 20, 2018 ·

It is a well-known fact that besides being used for culinary purposes, salt can be used for many different things around the house. For instance, it works great as an alternative to store-bought cleaners as it possesses disinfectant properties and it is free of chemicals. What`s more, it is inexpensive as well!

In addition to being used as cleaner, consider some of the other uses of salt around the house:

Salt has the ability to reduce humidity in the house and to effectively repel ants. All you have to do is to sprinkle some salt on the windowsills, the doors, or any other area where area usually thrive.

  1. Use Salt for Polishing Brass, Silver and Copper

If you are looking for a way to keep your brass, silver, or copper items clean and sparkly, look no further.  Salt is one of the simplest and best non-corrosive methods you can use for this purpose.

Mix salt and vinegar to create a paste which should be used to rub your items. Once rinsed with this paste, they will become clean, stain-free, and shiny.

  1. Salt for Cleaning Car and House Windows

Mix a couple of tablespoons of salt with a gallon of warm water. Rub the stained windows with this solution in order to clean them and eliminate any stains. You can use this solution for car windows too. The best thing about this cleaner is that it will make the windows stay clean an extended period of time.

Amazingly, you can even use salt to clean your drains! Combine some salt with hot water and pour the solution in the sink. This combination melts the accumulation of grease which is responsible for the clogged drain.

Adding some salt in the final cycle prevents clothes from shrinking and it helps them dry much faster.

Salt can make your colors brighter and restore their original glare with only one soak! All you have to do is to soak the piece of cloth, rug, or curtain, into salt water and rub the faded area well. This simple trick removes stains and stubborn spots which are difficult to eliminate with store-bought detergents.

  1. Teeth Whitening and Dental Care

Using salt as teeth whitener is probably the cheapest and simplest way to whiten your teeth naturally.  Mix some salt with baking soda and use it whenever you can to keep your teeth clean.

Dissolving salt in warm water and swirling it in your mouth disinfects your mouth cavity and alleviates pain. So, the next time you experience a toothache or mouths sores, give this trick a try. It will make your pain go away for good, or at least reduce it until you visit the dentist.

Last but not least, you can use salt for body care as well.  It works as great scrub which removes the oldest dead skin cells and rejuvenates the skin. Mix some salt with olive/ lavender oil to create an effective and nice-smelling bath scrub.
