Onions beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system, regulate the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides, but also affect the immune-boosting effects. Although it could cause a problem because of the unpleasant odor that it creates, you should know that onion is extremely beneficial food for your health, especially the medicinal effect on the heart, and the entire cardiovascular system.

It has been shown that its so-called sulfur compounds can reduce the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides and strengthen the cell membrane in the red blood cells. Because of these characteristics onion helps in the prevention of heart attack, according to the RTRS.

Studies have shown that onions may also improve bone density, and therefore can be used in particular to women in menopause who are experiencing the loss of bone density. In addition, it has been shown that women who are past menopause may reduce the risk of hip fracture if consumed daily onions.

Also it has been confirmed that the onions have an anti-inflammatory effect. Sulfur molecule there of enhance the activity of specific white blood cells that play an important role in the immune system. These vegetables contain antioxidants that prevent the oxidation of fatty acids in the body and thus keep the level of inflammation in check.

Studies have shown that the onions reduce the risk of several types of cancer, even when consumed in smaller quantities. It can reduce the risk of colon cancer, and pharyngeal cancer.

Other benefits of onions:

  • Improves blood sugar balance,
    • Prevent bacterial infections,
    • Contains vitamins C, A and E, which are very good antioxidants.
