Dry feet and cracked heels? The magic trick to repair them and make them soft in minutes

What Causes Dry, Cracked Heels?

Before finding the solution, it would first be necessary to know the causes to better treat the problem. According to Dr. Marie-Estelle Roux, dermatologist, here are the causes of cracked heels:

  • Dehydration of the skin.
  • Standing and prolonged station.
  • Wearing unsuitable shoes.
  • Lack of hydration.
  • Certain diseases, such as eczema or psoriasis.

Turn your cracked heels into baby feet: here’s the method

Some people prefer buy lotions or moisturizers which cost an arm, while others opt for natural remedies. If you belong to the second category, here is an express tip to heal your cracked heels:

Pumice stone, lemon and petroleum jelly for repaired heels

  • Soak your feet in a bath of warm soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Exfoliate your heels using a pumice to remove hard and thick skin.
  • Pat them dry with a clean, dry towel.
  • In a bowl, put 1 teaspoon of Vaseline and add 3 to 4 drops of lemon juice to it.
  • After mixing the ingredients, apply a good layer of this solution on your heels and any other cracked part of your feet.
  • Wear cotton socks and leave on for a few minutes before wiping your feet with a paper towel. (You can keep the socks on overnight and wash your feet in the morning when you wake up).

There are also other very effective home remedies that can treat, relieve and prevent cracked feet:

Banana Avocado Cracked Foot & Heel Mask

  • Blend a ripe banana and ½ avocado into a thick, creamy paste.
  • Apply the mixture to your crevices and cracks.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing your feet with lukewarm water.

Thanks to fatty acids and vitamins A and E, avocado helps promote wound healing, as this study, published in the National Library of Medicine, suggests. The banana acts, for its part, as a moisturizing agentdue to its richness in amino acids, vitamins A, B, C and E.

Honey mask to reduce cracked heels

  • Mix a cup of honey in half a bucket of warm water.
  • Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes in the mixture.
  • Scrub gently using a pumice.

Honey is an excellent moisturizing and cleansing for the skin, according to a study published in National Library of Medicine.

Home remedies involve nourishing the skin and moisturizing it to prevent new cracks from forming and speed up the healing process. However, you must continue to apply these natural solutions as soon as you can to get the desired results.
