Do You Have High Blood Pressure Or Heart Problems? Avoid These 16 Foods At All Costs! | Healthy Life Vision – Part 2

Margarine

Even though made from plant oils which are usually natural and healthy, margarine is bad because these oils are converted into unhealthy trans-fats during the hydrogenation process. During this process, these oils are subjected to tremendously high temperatures and then a catalyst is being injected to them, whether it is platinum, nickel or aluminum, so that they take on solid or semi-solid state. During this process, the molecular structure of the oils is being changed.

Canned Chicken Noodle Soup

Everyone loves soup, and it is particularly good for the winter days. Even though it is considered to be a soothe food, you should know that just one cup of this kind of soup serving contains up to 880 mg of sodium.

Canned Biscuits

Even though the food industry in recent time tries to be trans-fat free, there are types of food that cannot ovoid these fats, one of them being the refrigerated biscuits and crescent rolls. The Harvard School of Public Health recently conducted a research and found out that trans-fats are connected to increased risk of high blood pressure, especially in older and middle-aged women. The label of these products doesn’t say that they contain these trans-fat, but you should know that they do and avoid them. Instead using these products, opt for meals with wholegrain bread or dinner roll, but before buying these products, you should also check the nutrition facts labels and see if they contain sodium. Bread is also one of the products that mostly contribute to the great amounts of salt we take in.

Ramen noodles

College students love them, but they are not aware that these noodles are not healthy at all. There are 14 grams of fat in just one package of Ramen noodles and 1580 mg of sodium. Most of these sodium amounts are actually found in the flavor packages.

Convenience Foods like frozen Pot Pies

The pot pie may be sweet and tasty, but a serving of it contains around 1300-1400 mg of sodium and around 35 g of fat. These quantities comprise more than 50 percent of the daily amounts recommended for both of the ingredients. This amount of fat includes trans fat as well, which should be completely avoided and is really unhealthy unsaturated fat.

Pizza

According to the Grocery Manufacturers Association, plain old cheese and meat topped pizzas are our diet’s sodium suppliers. Pizza makes the blood pressure skyrocketing, because almost all Americans eat is on a daily basis, and because it is abundant in salt, through the crust, the sauce, the cheese, the add-ons like sausages, pepperoni etc. if you truly love pizza, at least avoid the ones with cheese and meat and opt for the vegetarian pizza instead.

Coffee

Coffee has become a controversial type of food nowadays, the same as alcohol, because when it comes to hypertension, some studies show that it does increase blood pressure, some say it doesn’t. still, most of the studies do show a correlation between coffee and increased blood pressure, so the safest option for you would be to switch to lower-octane drinks like green tea for example.

Foods that Help Lower Blood Pressure

Food that is high in fiber, such as vegetables, fruits, beans, peas, whole-grain cereals, rice, breads and pasta is good for you and your health. When we talk about starches, you should know that not all starches are the same, and for example, whole-grain starches are better than processed starches. Avoid consuming white bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Whole-grain food provides more satiety and prevents overeating, and it also has higher nutritional value. It also has fewer calories and is rich in vitamins and minerals.

Fruits & veggies

Fruits and vegetables should not only be consumed when you try to lose some weight, but they should be used constantly because they are amazing when it comes to lowering the blood pressure. They are abundant in potassium, so they stop the effects of sodium, thus contributing to lowering of the blood pressure. Your diet should consist of spinach, bananas, oranges and orange juice, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, lima beans and the like.

Herbs & spices

Instead salt, it is always better to add herbs and spices if you want to improve the taste of your dish. They offer new and interesting flavors. You can consume your salad with basil for example, your chicken with rosemary or thyme, your soup with sage, your meat with oregano etc.
