Be Your Own Dentist! Here are Tricks to Remove Tartar Buildup at Home | Healthy Life Vision

Gudrun Howell · August 15, 2018 ·

The mineral accumulation on teeth is called tartar. The amount of tartar increases in time and you should take care of it in order to prevent the occurrence of periodontitis. You can always visit your dentist to remove your tartar, but if you like to do it naturally this is the right place for you.

You will need:

  • Baking soda
  • Toothbrush
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Cup
  • Dental pick
  • Antiseptic mouth wash

Baking soda is considered as one of the most powerful ingredients for eliminating plaque.

Step 1:

Combine 1 tablespoon of baking soda with half a teaspoon of salt into the cup. Apply warm water on your toothbrush and then dip it into the prepared composite. Brush your teeth and then spit it. This process should last for 5 minutes.

Step 2:

Combine a cup of hydrogen peroxide with ½ cup of warm water and wash your mouth for one minute. Spit the mixture and wash your mouth with cool water.

Step 3:

Scrub the tartar from your teeth using a dental pick. Make sure you don’t scrub your gums because you can damage them.

Step 4:

Wash your mouth with an antiseptic mouth wash and iterate this every second day.

Read on and discover more tips that can allow you to have wonderful smile.

Strawberries and Tomatoes

Tomatoes and strawberries contain a lot of vitamin C which is perfect for your oral health. Apply these them directly on your teeth by rubbing them and leave them to stay for 5 minutes. You will make the tartar accumulations softer.

Then you can wash your mouth with a mixture prepared with warm water and baking soda. You can also use other vitamin C-rich foods like berries, lemons, lime, bell peppers, oranges and papaya.

Cheese

The Swiss or Cheddar cheese neutralizes the acids that promote plaque production. You should eat them before having a meal in order to achieve this. A nutrient in older cheese acts as a barrier factor.

In addition, there are other tips you can implement for better oral health:

  • Brush your teeth with softer toothbrush with vertical motions. Watch for the space between gums and teeth.
  • Floss often
  • The spicy food triggers the salivary glands which is a natural way for cleansing your mouth.
  • Rub an orange peel on your teeth in order to eliminate the bacteria. Do this before sleeping and don’t wash your mouth.
