How to care for plants?

If you have a dry plant affected by pests, with moldy roots due to excess water, do not abandon it. You should always look for signs that indicate the slightest suspicion. Try to find out the signs of life in the leaves or stem of the plant.

It takes a lot of patience to give potted plants time to recover. Often, very dry or wilted plants need several weeks to regain their shine and beauty.

Gardeners consider plants as living beings. However, for most people, plants are considered as mere decorative elements. This is totally false. You need to know the characteristics of each plant to help it grow healthy. Only in this way will you be able to determine the conditions in which a flower or plant grows best.

The reasons why plants die

A plant can die for various reasons. One of the main causes that lead to wilting of the flower is pests. In such situations, you need to pay attention to holes, discolored, rolled and bent leaves, as well as swelling of the stem. Gardeners recommend gently cleaning each leaf with a cloth soaked in soapy water.

Excess water can, in turn, cause the plant to wilt. Usually, an overwatered plant has brown or yellow leaves. How to solve such a problem? Do not water the plant at all, to begin with, and place it in a place away from direct sunlight.

Dry plants usually have brown shades on the leaves, especially on the edge, and if left untended, they eventually fall off. Learn how to control the moisture conditions of flowers. Of course, remove dead leaves, as well as those that have wilted and tend to fall off the stem.

Plants can also die from lack of nutrients. The root of a flower can say a lot about the health of the plant. As a rule, the root should be smooth, thick and have white tips. It is sometimes necessary to change the substrate, or even the pot, so that the plant develops properly.

If you feel the need, use a natural fertilizer a few times a month to stimulate flower growth. You can make a homemade compost to bring your plant back to life. Make the most of the organic waste in the house!

Basically, gardeners say that there are three main steps to follow when a plant dies.

  • The first is to cut and remove dry leaves. Cut the plant to the compost level with scissors or a very sharp knife.
  • Then put the whole potted plant in a bucket of water.
  • When there are no more bubbles on the surface, remove the plant from the bucket and let it drain. Until new shoots emerge, keep the plant as cool an environment as possible and away from direct sunlight.
