The awesome trick to keep mice away from home FINAL SITE

Summary

Mice and rats: a real calamity to banish! Some natural remedies to keep rodents awayTo keep mice away? Bet on cat litter!

Don’t have a domestic cat that could very easily keep them away? You have other options. If you are hostile to chemicals, too aggressive and environmentally disfriendly, here are some natural solutions that will quickly repel them.

A cat captures a mouse

Mice and rats: a real calamity to banish!

One of the main reasons rodents keep coming back to your home is because they are looking for food. Obviously if you store your food properly and if the hygiene of your home is perfectly irreproachable, their presence will be rather rare. You should know that mice tend to nibble the crumbs of food that hang around here and there. Some even venture into kitchen cabinets or drawers to gain access to your poorly packaged food. The problem is that it is particularly difficult to track down and eliminate these parasites: rodents are very clever at finding almost inaccessible hiding places. Not to mention that they sneak very quickly under the furniture and end up escaping. That’s why you have to act smartly to get rid of them and especially avoid a probable invasion. Remember that if you notice a single mouse in the vicinity, others will not be long in coming!

In absolute terms, poisoned pellets are a solution to get rid of these parasites. They are usually installed in the basement, garage or any other area not frequented by members of the household. However, if you have children and pets, you risk exposing them to the danger of these toxic substances. Indeed, this poison scattered in the corners of the home is dangerous. Poorly applied, this method can do a lot of damage. It is better to consider other alternatives that are less harmful and more respectful of the animal.

Some natural remedies to keep rodents away

It is therefore better to opt for natural and non-toxic tricks to eradicate this problem. Here are two proven ingredients that will free you from these pests quickly.

Peppermint oil

Peppermint oil

Did you know that peppermint was already a powerful repellent against spiders and mosquitoes? Well, it turns out that it is also a very effective natural solution to keep mice away. We love its smell, but rodents can’t stand it. Indeed, its high menthol content triggers strong fumes that immediately repel rodents.

Here’s how to do it: soak cotton pieces with a few drops of peppermint essential oil and spread them in the different rooms where mice are likely to pass. The more, the better! Rest assured, the aroma released will be very pleasant in these spaces. You will enhance the effect if you buy potted mint for cooking. As a bonus, you can even take the opportunity to add a few mint leaves to your drinks to give them even more flavor. Two birds with one stone!

Apple cider vinegar

Like peppermint oil, you can also use apple cider vinegar. Same principle: its strong and pungent smell has the art of scaring away these parasites. The only difference is that this scent can also irritate you in the long run. You can mitigate these scents by combining them with laurel or sage essential oils. These aromas are not appreciated at all by mice. Spray in infested areas to keep these unwanted guests away.

Laundry softener

Here is another unexpected repellent, the smell of which is also hated by mice. This is the assoupleating that you use to soften and perfume your laundry. After using it on your clothes when washing, place them near the window to dry. Rodents will no longer come to this area!

To keep mice away? Bet on cat litter!

A mouse in the house

The majority of people know that cats are the natural enemies of mice. It is therefore not surprising if the presence of a possible feline immediately scares away rodents. But, if Tom is not around, it is possible to trick Jerry to get trapped! If you don’t have your own pet, ask one of your friends who owns a cat to provide you with a used litter box. If you store it in a jar,the mice will believe that there is a cat in the house and they will not dare to approach. A little creativity and voila!

Good to know: If possible, always keep exterior doors securely closed or install a door screen to prevent pests from entering your home.
