Ancient Chinese Medicine practitioners have been using food detox methods as a great way of cleaning the body of toxins. They believe that the feet hold certain energy points which are connected to all the organs in the body, and that by stimulating these zones we can relieve any kind of health problem. There are quite a few options of foot detox baths that really work, and we’ve picked the best for you.

Ionic foot bath

Ionic foot baths eliminate toxins in the body through electrolysis. This process relies on electrical current which causes an internal chemical reaction that can remove the toxins from your body through the feet. Ionic foot baths are usually made of salt and warm water, as they’re super conductive. You just need to put your feet in a bowl of warm water and salt (or other ingredients) and leave them in until the water turns dark. Here are a few great examples of ionic foot baths:

Salt detox bath

Ingredients

1 cup sea salt

1 cup Epsom salt

2-3 drops of an essential oil

2 cups baking soda

1 cup ACV (optional)

Instructions

Boil a bowl of water first, then add the Epsom and sea salts in and stir well. Now, fill your tub with hot water and add the mixture, then add the essential oil and some ACV as well. Soak your feet in the tub for half an hour to remove all the toxins from your feet completely naturally.

Clay detox bath

Ingredients

½ a cup bentonite clay

½ a cup Epsom salt

3-4 drops of an essential oil

Preparation

Pour the Epsom salt in a bowl of boiling water and let it dissolve, adding the bentonite clay and essential oil in the end. Soak your feet in the mixture for up to 30 minutes to eliminate the toxins from your body and raise your magnesium levels.

Oxygen detox bath

Ingredients

2 cups hydrogen peroxide

1 tablespoon powdered ginger

Instructions

Fill your tub with hot water and add the ingredients, then soak your feet in for half an hour. This bath is great against skin irritation and allergies while also extracting all the toxins from your skin.

Foot detox pads

The foot detox pads are a great and simple way of eliminating toxins. They can be found in most health stores, and all you have to do is apply them on your soles before going to bed. Take them off in the morning and they should be black from all the toxins extracted. Rinse your feet with warm water in the end and repeat the process every night for best results.
