20 Things You Should Never Wash in the Final Washing Machine

Summary

What are the things you should never put in the washing machine?

While it’s tempting to machine wash everything, some items can get damaged or even interfere with the proper functioning of your device.

What are the things you should never put in the washing machine?

If you have the annoying habit of throwing anything in your washing machine, this is not only likely to damage these items, but your device may crash. To avoid making these mistakes in the future and keep your device running smoothly for as long as possible. We’ve put together a list of 20 things you should never put in your washing machine.

Coins: In addition to damaging the drum, the coins can break the glass of the washing machine and clog the drain.

Clothing stained with flammable materials: If you do, it’s fireworks guaranteed! Washing clothes impregnated with gasoline, alcohol, and any other flammable liquid can start a house fire.

Brassieres : The frames, eye closures and other metal fasteners of bras can come off due to agitation and cling to the different parts of the washing machine.

Keys: If you forget to check your pockets and your keys end up in your washing machine, they can get stuck in the pipes and cause significant damage.

Clothing covered with animal hair: Your pet’s hair that remains in the machine can clump together and stick to the walls of the drum and may even clog drain pipes.

Leather running shoes: If the upper of your sports shoes is made of leather, avoid machine washing them unless otherwise indicated on the label. Leather can peel off, and fibers can become lumpy and tear.

Rubber articles: When you machine wash an item that contains rubber, it may melt due to heat.

Memory foam pillow: These pillows are made of viscoelastic foam that deforms and crumbles when machine-driven.

Pens: If a pen accidentally ends up in your washing machine, it can explode in the wash and damage everything inside.

Clothing with buttons and zippers: By turning in all directions, the knobs can unravel and damage the machine. As for open zippers, they can scratch the drum.

Velvet or cashmere sweaters: This type of garment cannot withstand machine washing. They can shrink at high temperatures.

Baby socks: Never machine wash baby socks or any other small items as they can slip into the pipes and block them. Instead, put them in closed mesh bags.

Lingerie and lace articles: The lace fabric is so fine and delicate that it cannot be machine washed, as this may deform or tear it. Before throwing them in your washing machine, place them in a laundry net first.

Ties: Machine washing ties may wrinkle and shrink them. They come out deformed, especially those made of wool or silk.

Costumes: The costumes contain interlining that gives them their clean shape. This deforms or disintegrates when passing to the machine.

Waterproof clothing: Waterproof clothing traps water, swells and can explode during the wash cycle. In addition, some detergents and fabric softeners can damage the waterproof diaper.

Clothes embellished with patterns: Whether sewn or glued, the patterns are very delicate and do not support machine washing.

Stuffed animals: If you put a stuffed animal in the washing machine, it will not come out unscathed. This may tear out an eye or a pimple.

Handbags: It is not recommended to wash your machine bags, this can deform them and damage the external accessories.

Excessive use of detergent: Putting too much laundry doesn’t make clothes cleaner. Using liquid soap above recommended levels can accumulate residue on the walls of the machine, which turns into mold and gives off a bad odor.

From now on, you have no excuses to put anything in the drum of your washing machine.
